Terms of Use & community rules

Puffadoodles is an experimental social village. By checking the agreement box before entering, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not enter. This agreement does not waive rights that applicable law does not allow you to waive.

Using the village

Use a nickname. Chat is visible to other visitors, who may copy or record it. Do not post addresses, phone numbers, passwords, financial details, private information about others, or other sensitive information.

Do not harass, threaten, impersonate, dox, exploit, scam, spam, distribute unlawful content, infringe others' rights, post sexual content involving minors, or attempt to compromise the service. Do not post content you lack permission to share. Access or content may be restricted or removed to address abuse, security risks, or legal obligations.

Your content

You retain ownership of your messages. You give the operator permission to store, process, and display them as necessary to operate the village and address safety or legal matters. This is not a transfer of ownership.

Public beta and limits

The service is offered “as is” and “as available,” to the extent permitted by law. Features may change or stop working; availability, saved progress, and uninterrupted access are not guaranteed. Other visitors' statements are their own and are not endorsed by the operator. Do not rely on the village for emergencies or professional advice.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the operator disclaims implied warranties and liability for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from use of the service. These limitations do not exclude liability or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including responsibility for fraud, willful injury, or violations of law where exclusion is prohibited. No provision requires you to waive nonwaivable consumer, privacy, or accessibility rights.

Changes

Updated terms will be posted here with a new version date. Guest entry will request acceptance of the current version. Changes do not retroactively remove accrued rights.

Privacy notice

Information used by the village

• Your chosen nickname, a generated guest identifier, creation time, and a record of the terms version you accepted.
• Authentication credentials used to maintain your guest session. The browser village holds session credentials in memory; the server stores refresh-token hashes and expiry records.
• Messages, their sender identifiers, timestamps, and any edits or deletion markers in the server database.
• Avatar position, appearance, and actions used to display the shared world. World presence is maintained in server memory; leaving does not delete your stored chat or guest records.
• Technical connection information processed by hosting and networking systems, potentially including IP addresses, request times, and browser information. Application request logging omits URL query strings; hosting providers may keep separate logs and backups.

Purposes and recipients

Information is used to operate sessions and chat, display players, maintain security, investigate problems, and document acceptance of terms. Other visitors can see nicknames, chat, avatars, and actions. The operator and hosting/service providers may process stored data for operation and support. Information may be disclosed when required by law or necessary to address abuse or protect rights.

The village client currently includes no advertising or third-party analytics scripts and does not implement cross-site advertising tracking. It does not change behavior in response to browser Do Not Track signals. This describes the current application, not a verified audit of hosting-provider practices.

Retention and requests

Guest records and chat currently remain in the application database until removed; there is no automatic deletion schedule. A message disappearing from a speech bubble does not delete it. Refresh tokens have a configured 30-day validity period; expiry alone does not guarantee removal of the database record. Hosting logs and backups may retain additional copies.

Use the contact information below to request access, correction, or deletion or to raise a privacy concern. Provide your nickname and approximate visit time; do not send passwords or sensitive identity documents. Because guests do not have verified accounts, the operator may need additional non-sensitive context to locate a record and avoid disclosing someone else's data. Applicable legal exceptions and verification requirements may affect a request.

Children and changes

The village is designed for a general audience and is not intended for children under 13. Do not provide information from a child under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided information should contact the operator. This statement is not an age-verification mechanism.

Material privacy changes will be described on this page with an updated date. Check this notice before entering a new session.

Accessibility

Accessibility work is ongoing, with WCAG 2.2 AA as the target. Full conformance has not been established.

• Use Tab to reach controls. Focus the village canvas, then use arrow keys or WASD to walk.
• Use the village controls for reduced motion and an untimed text history of chat and action entries from the current visit.
• Operating-system reduced-motion preferences are respected when the village opens.

Text view hides the moving scene and provides destination buttons, location descriptions, resident interactions, player names, actions, and shared chat. Camera buttons provide alternatives to dragging and multi-finger gestures. Keyboard and narrow-screen checks have been performed; compatibility with all screen readers, devices, and individual access needs has not been independently verified. Please report barriers using the contact below, describing the task, browser, and assistive technology if relevant. Do not include sensitive information. This statement does not replace the work needed to make the service accessible.
